Remember that a seller’s Flippa Trust Rating simply does not tell the whole story. Make sure you check the seller’s feedback as well as how long they have been selling on Flippa.
One warning sign is a relatively new seller who has many websites for sale. This can sometimes indicate an unscrupulous seller preparing to “pump and dump” as many sites as possible as quickly as possible. Often, seller such as these are selling websites which make false promises of easy money and some have even made guarantees that you would make money if you buy their website.
Sellers such as these are looking to make some fast cash and essentially take the money and run. After several buyers complain Flippa will investigate and ban the seller.
What happens next? The seller has already made a fast pile of cash and it the poor, unsuspecting buyers are left holding empty promises and a lighter wallet.
Moral of the story: Exercise caution when buying a website from sellers who’s sales pitch sounds too good to be true.
